Justice Sankale Ole Kantai of the Nairobi Court of Appeal was on Friday arrested by DCI Detectives over his connection to the murder of slain Dutch Businessman Tob Cohen.

Kantai, who was arrested in Nairobi’s CBD was taken to the DCI Headquarters along Kiambu Road for questioning where he is currently being held.

Kantai has been accused of helping Sarah Wairimu Cohen, who was Tob Cohen’s wife and the main murder suspect in the case with falsifying of police reports and advice over how she should answer questions in the event that she was implicated in the murder.

According to The Daily Nation, Sarah Cohen reached out to Justice Sankale asking for advice in case she was caught up in the murder investigation after Tob Cohen’s disappearance in July last year.

Sankale is reported to have booked a flight for Sarah Cohen to meet him in Kisumu where he was attending a workshop.

According to text messages shared between Sarah Cohen and Justice Sankale, it is highly likely that the two were close and possibly intimate.

SANKALE: “Good morning. Driver left five minutes ago. He is coming for you.”

SARAH COHEN: “Ok. Love.”

Sarah Cohen, who had filed for divorce, during her marriage is said to have been hostile to Tob Cohen with reports revealing that Tob Cohen had on several occasions reported to the police his wife’s harassment and battling behaviour but nothing was done.

At one time, Tob Cohen uploaded to social media a video of himself with blood on the face where he accused his wife of battling him.

Cohen, who was a Dutch businessman and a former Philips East Africa Director disappeared in July without a trace.

When his wife was quizzed by his sister over his whereabouts, she reportedly lied that he had gone to Europe for treatment.

Investigations by the DCI later revealed that Tob Cohen’s passport had not been used to leave the country leading to possible homicide investigations.

In September, last year, the DCI Detectives, after questioning some of the workers and close friends found Tob Cohen’s body inside a water tank in his Kitisuru home compound leading to the arrest and arraignment of Sarah Cohen as the Principal suspect.

Shit hit the fan after Cohen failed to include Sarah in his will, leaving her nothing from his vast multi-million-shilling empire.

In October after spending a month at Lang’ata Women’s Prison and Remand correctional facility, Sarah secured a Kes. 2 Million bail or a Kes. 4 Million Bond with two sureties of Kes. 2 Million each through her lawyer Philip Murgor and was allowed to attend his burial at the Jewish cemetery.
