A video of Nigeria Songwriter Burna Boy’s Manager threatening to leave the venue ahead of Burna Boy’s performance during the NRG Wave concert has surfaced online.
In the video, Burna’s Manager is seen arguing with some of the event planners over unknown reasons.
After arguing for a while, the Manager is heard telling the organizers that they will leave the venue ‘right away’ in front of fans and the fans start singing along to Burna’s Ye.
Despite many artists slated to perform during the NRG Wave, the mood at the festival did not seem right despite thousands of revelers spending their chums just so they could see Burna Boy perform live at the Mombasa Sports Club.
Harmonize, who was slated to perform on Sunday evening did not perform despite him being at the venue throughout the night.
According to our mole, Harmonize demanded to be paid before getting on stage but the NRG Event organizers could not raise the required chums on time, leading to Harmo absconding the performance altogether.
Burna Boy, who was the main act for the night also arrived at the venue late, with the reason being blamed on ‘logistical issues’ from the organizer’s side.
Burna reportedly requested for e Private Jet to take him from his hotel to the venue while NRG Wave Organizers had already ordered a Range Rover in the ready. Burna is reported to have refused to go for the venue hence the reason he took long before going to the venue.
Burna Boy did not get on stage until around 3:00 AM when a majority of the revelers were either too tired, drunk and/or passed out to watch his performance.
The 5-day event started on the 26th of December with local artists such as Willy Paul, Nandy, Nadia Mukami and Samidoh taking center stage.
The NRG Wave Festival is set to continue until the 31st of December, where Jamaican Reggae Artist Buju Banton will help close the decade in what will be his first performance in Africa.
