Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has come out to dispel rumors going round on Social media pages that he paid the Deputy President and Political Foe William Ruto a visit at his Karen home.
Moi, through his Twitter Page, termed the rumors as ‘malicious and taunting,’ claiming that he had instead spent the whole day with his father Retired President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi at his home in Kabarak, Nakuru County.
“The Social Media has been awash with photos purporting that I was at a certain Karen home. The information is not true but propaganda by a wing of the political divide desperate to hoodwink Kenyans. I have been home in Kabarak since yesterday spending quality time with H.E Mzee.”
Gideon wrote on his Social Media Wall.
In another post by KANU Party Social Media account, the Party expressed its feels and urged members of the public to ignore fake news being manufactured so as to project certain leaders in a different light.
“Ignore fake news doing rounds n social media. Our Chairman Senator Gideon Moi is many nautical miles away from Karen.”
The Party’s statement said in part.
Over the past few months, there has been a political battle between Moi and Ruto as to who will be the Leader of the Kalenjin Community even as 2022 succession battle remains in play.
A week ago, attempts by the Kalenjin Council of Elders to unite the two leaders ended in disarray with both parties refusing to follow through the laid down script.
