A male graduate has been the topic of discussion all over the internet after he hacked the Government portal and employed himself.
Bright Chabota, who is a resident of South Africa and with Zambian Roots allegedly hacked into the South African Ministry of Health Databases and added his name to the list of workers.
Reports indicated that Bright who is Half-Zambian and Half Zulu has been receiving monthly stipends from the South African Government since June 2018 even though he never showed up for work throughout the whole period.
The South African government reported that they noticed an anomaly with their systems after realizing that Bright, who studied Computer Engineering in University had not been paying his taxes and for Health Insurance services in the country.
Upon further investigations, Bright was found to be the ghost worker receiving pay without doing a single thing only for it to emerge that he had employed himself after bypassing the systems.
According to his parents, Bright informed them that he had gotten a job with the government sometime last year and that his salary was Seven Thousand South African Rands (Approximately 50,661 Kenya Shillings).
Over the past years, graduates in South Africa, just like Kenya have been suffering due to lack of proper job opportunities after graduating from University and College, and for those who are lucky enough, the jobs they are doing do not match the salaries and skills they have trained for.
