Female rapper Cardi B made history at the 61st Grammy Awards after winning the Best Rap Album Category for ‘Invasion of Privacy’ yester evening.
Cardi B beat other nominees among them Rappers Travvis Scott, Pusha T and The Late Mac Miller to win the awards which were held in Los Angeles, California.
Accompanied by her Rapper Hubby Offset, during Cardi in her acceptance speech thanked her daughter for the award since she was working on the Album at a time when she was pregnant with her 7-month-old daughter Kulture.
“I am not just saying thank you because she is my daughter. It is because when I found out I was pregnant, my album was not complete, like three songs that I was for sure working on. And then you know how it was. We was like we have to get this album done so I could still do videos while I am still not showing and those were very long nights.” Cardi said.
She further thanked God, her family, workers, and fans and dedicated the win to them all.
In 2017, Cardi B was nominated into the 60th Grammys for her first single Bodak Yellow. She also made a debut in the Grammys performing Finesse with Bruno Mars.
The win becomes Cardi B’s first ever Grammy Award in her music career.
